Take n Pay is a relatively new independent retailer, with only two stores so far in KwaZulu-Natal. In 2019, the Take n Pay store in Chatsworth received the International Retailer of the Year Award at the 2019 IGA in San Diego, California. The criteria for this award included their level of service, consistent pricing, and the extent to which they are involved in the community. The owner, Ismail Salajee, wants to grow the family business, while at the same time investing in the community around them.

Take n Pay falls under the Groceries category, along with other stores such as Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers, Spar, Ultra Liquors, Food Lover's Market, Makro, Boxer, Cambridge Foods and Woolworths. Their trading hours are from 8h00 to 18h00 from Monday to Friday and 8h00 to 15h00 on Sundays.

Take n Pay stores are not available in every province of South Africa yet, but they want to expand in the near future.
