Telkom was the first telecommunications operator to launch in South Africa, in 1991. Early in the 1990s, Telkom partnered with Vodafone UK to form the Vodacom Group. As the only mobile provider in the early 2000s Telkom had monopoly throughout South Africa, but after selling their shares in the Vodacom group in 2008.

Today, Telkom operates in more than 38 countries across the African continent. They have several stores in South Africa, in cities such as Berea, Cape Town, Benoni, Pietermaritzburg, Standerton and Vryheid.

Telkom falls under the Electronics category along with other stores such as Matrix Warehouse, BT Games, Cash Crusaders, Game, Teljoy, MTN, Cell C, Vodacom, Takealot and HiFi Corp. Their trading hours are from 9h00 to 19h00 from Monday to Saturday, and 8h00 to 17h00 on Sundays.

• Their mobile services include international roaming and calling, streaming bundles, mobile number portability, Google Play™ Store Billing, and data bundle transfers.
• With the Entertainment Bolt-on service, you can stream up to 100GB of movies and series on Showmax, and have it billed on your Telkom account.
• You can expect to find the biggest name brands in the Telkom catalogue. Whether you’re a fan of Huawei, Samsung, or the iPhone, there will be a mobile deal for you!
