About Game stores

Game opened their first store in 1970, in the city of Durban, South Africa. Today, they have 100 stores across the African continent. In South Africa, their stores can be found in Kokstad, Johannesburg, Worcester, Richards Bay, Stellenbosch and Polokwane. To create a sense of fun and excitement, they implemented their iconic and recognizable pink colour, which remains part of their branding today.

They are involved in the community and help where they can. In 2017, they donated merchandise to the value of R430 000 to fire victims in Knysna. They also partnered with the disaster relief organization, Gift of Givers Foundation, to help those in need.

Knowing how malnourishment in school-aged children can delay their educational development, Game created the AmaLunchbox project in 2008. Instead of supplying meals (which the government provides through feeding schemes), they provide the schools with fully equipped kitchens (valued at R160 000). In this way, the schools have the equipment they need to make nutritious meals. Through this project, they supply R43 million worth of meals each year for under privileged children.

Game stores fall under the Electronics category along with other stores such as Cash Crusaders, Cell C, Cellucity, Computer Mania, HiFi Corp, Hirsch's, Matrix Warehouse, MTN, Takealot and Teljoy. Their trading hours are from 9h00 to 19h00 from Monday to Saturday and 9h00 to 17h00 on Sunday.
