About Clicks

Clicks originally started in August 1968, in the city of Cape Town. The owner, Jack Goldin, had the idea that it would become a pharmacy. However, due to strict regulation in South Africa, selling medicine in their stores was just not possible at the time. In 1971, they expanded to another province, and opened a store in Durban. In 2004, Goldin’s dream of a pharmacy became a reality. Clicks opened their first pharmacy store, and today they have more than 500 instore pharmacies in outlets across South Africa. Their familiar slogan “You Pay Less at Clicks”, together with their competitive pricing, has been a part of the Clicks brand since the very beginning. They have grown into a successful brand with more than 700 stores across South Africa, in cities such as Acornhoek, Alberton, Alexandra, Aliwal North, Amanzimtoti, Atlantis and employ more than 15 000 people.

Clicks falls under the Health & Beauty category, along with other stores such as Avon, Dis-Chem, Justine, The Local Choice Pharmacy. Their trading hours depend on the shopping centre in which they are based, but most often they are open from 9h00 to 18h00 from Monday to Saturday and 9h00 to 17h00 on Sundays.

What Clicks Offers

The most popular Clicks specials are their “3 for 2 deals”. You basically buy three products (of the same brand or range), and get the cheapest one free. This means you can save big each month when buying products such as shampoo, body wash, or even washing powder. 

• If there’s one loyalty card you should have, it is the Clicks Clubcard. Starting in 1995, it’s the first and oldest loyalty programme in South Africa. With each purchase, you earn points. At the end of each term, these points are converted to a “cashback” voucher that can be used to buy more household necessities from Clicks’ latest catalogue, or just to spoil yourself! Besides earning points in Clicks stores, you can also swipe your card at partnering stores (e.g. Body Shop, Spec-Savers, Musica, and more). • The instore Clicks pharmacy offers convenience and affordability. Get assistance from their well-informed pharmacists and pick up prescriptions while doing shopping. Not able to shop in the store? Since 2008, they offer delivery services of medicine, which means you can have your prescriptions delivered to your door. • They are exclusive stockists of the Oh So Heavenly, Sorbet, and Body Shop brands. In the Clicks catalogue 2020, you can also find other private label brands such as Safeway, Kambrook, and Smartbite.
